Susan Kanoff is a former social worker and wardrobe stylist, as well as the founder of Uncommon Threads, a nonprofit that empowers low-income women through clothing and personal styling.

Founded in 2016, Susan started the organization to combine her passion for fashion with her commitment to helping women build self-esteem and confidence. Also known as The Midlife Fashionista, Susan’s blog and social media accounts offer fashion, beauty and wellness tips for women over 40. She has been featured in Woman’s World Magazine, the Boston Globe, and on Boston television stations WGBH, NECN, and WCVB. Susan lives with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and she co-founded CLL Women Strong, the first national support group for women living with CLL, and Kicking Cancer in Heels, an online platform to bring resources and hope to women impacted by cancer.

She has won many awards for her work supporting women and families including a Massachusetts State Citation for Excellence, NAHRO awards for program innovation, the YWCA Tribute to Women Award, and she was named a 2022 Northshore Magazine Mover & Shaker.
