Laureen Benevenia graduated from New York University with a Journalism degree, and went on to a career in advertising and marketing. Retired, she now enjoys new creative pursuits, and shares her writing and poetry about the beauty of aging across several platforms, including her popular Instagram account, @GlowUpSilver, where she also documents her journey to embrace her grey hair.
Laureen is passionate about working to shift the aging narrative, and showing women by example that midlife is a time of transformation, new beginnings, and great possibility. She had her first essay published in Alpha Magazine at age fifty four, and signed with Stetts Management as a model, representing midlife women in national campaigns for companies like Lancome, Warners, Malia Mills, Moderna, and Bank of America. She also works as user-generated content creator and has partnered with brands like Clarins, Laura Mercier, Rōz, and Mother Science. She also volunteers her time with the national online platform Crisis Text Line.
Laureen resides in New Jersey with her husband and their three-year-old goldendoodle who joined the family when their youngest moved out.
